Joe: Niall has buckets for hands that's just as important as how fast you sprint

NOB is a reliable outfielder?! Due to the exceptionally high standard throughout the squad he'd be the worst fielder on the team by far. It is of course a matter of opinion who is the better keeper, but I'd have Wilson every day of the week, and so would the Irish selectors (which is all that matters after all). Any unmentioned conspiracy theories don't interest me. Who would you drop to put NOB in as a batsman? I suspect you can't name names as dropping Poynter isn't an option due to his form of late, and the rest of the top 6 pick themselves. So he's batting 7 if you drop Thompson?

Competition is healthy so all in all it's a nice problem to have!

Great performance by our Batsmen, but the bowlers won it, led by Tim Murtagh who got the vital first wicket and every other bowler was tremendous after that, regardless of whether they took a wicket or not.
Now the hard part, can we do it again tomorrow?

I do feel sad for Niall, but he will bounce back, great players always do.

Just to follow up from my post yesterday, stating one win would be 'acceptable', maybe now we can really make the 'powers that be' wake up with another win, or good performance on Friday. If only some of our early batting big guns come off we could really go to Bangladesh with great confidence!

Re- Joe Powers comments on NOB......It's a matter of opinion about who's the best keeper. (If Surrey thought Wilson was, he'd be keeping there!) NOB has vast experience. If Simmo still won't let him keep it's probably for 'other' (historical) reasons but he definitely should be in as a Batsman ahead of a couple of others.....(no names) & he'a a very reliable out-fielder anyway.
Well done Ireland ! Again.

Congratulations to Ireland team and all the hard work that they put in all through the years.
Defeating world champions of t20 at their home turf .
With likes of Gayle Smith Samuels Bravo Russel Sammy Narine Rampaul in team
they are like T20 giants .
Brave effort by Ireland..
Also not going by this victory . But some said in this forum Ireland is not Test Ready.
Can somebody explain me what is Test Ready is that something to do with Winning in AUSTRALIA boxing day test or winning in Durban. or Rank Tunners of India in first year of inclusion of test cricket.
Ireland is already Test Ready . they Sit between top Associates and Bottom full members . Big 3 should include Ireland soon to Full Membership and let them play Zimbabwe Bangladesh West Indies Pakistan in Home Away basis of 2 Test 5Odi's
Touring teams to England can play them 1Test and 3Odi's after 2years .
Problem with Bangladesh was they were admitted prematurely and then they were made to play top teams . Aussies playing 2 Test against Bangladesh that time didn't make sense even South Africa .
Still Bangladesh find it hard to Win a Test Match on home turf .
Ireland can bring competitiveness to bottom of the table. Where they may get good fight against Bangladesh in Bangladesh and in return they can make Bangladesh run for their money when they tour Ireland.
