Limavady v Drummond

Barry Chambers, 30 June 2001

Limavady won a high scoring encounter with local rivals Drummond scoring 274 for 5 and dismissing Drummond for 223. The new opening partnership of Iftikhar Hussain and Ian Mc Gregor did exceptionally well putting on 214 for the first wicket, as they made light of the absence of Decker Curry who is on Ireland duty. Hussain scored 114 which contained 10 fours and 3 sixes, and Mc Gregor 119 which included 14 fours. Wasim Haider with 2-27 was the best of the Drummond attack. In reply Drummond batted well to score 223 with Haider scoring 71 with 10 fours and 1 six, although he was dropped by Hussain when he had scored only four. Kieran Coyle struck a belligerent 34, and Stephen Kelly 32 as Drummond fell 51 runs short. Brian Christie had figures of 3-67.
