Fox Lodge v Brigade
Barry Chambers, 14 July 2001 Brigade came back well against struggling Fox Lodge at Ballymagorry. Batting first the opening pair of Lee Williamson and John Browne looked to be in no trouble as they added 39 for the opening wicket, but the introduction of Robert Huey and Zahid Javed into the attack soon had them in trouble as they slumped to 50 for five. However Wajahatullah Wasti with 35, skipper David Cooke batting at number seven with 26 and Gregory Wilson with 33 rescued the situation and they ended up with 154. Michael Walker took 4-33 as he disposed of the tail, but the bowlers who did the real damage were Huey with 2-11 and Javed with 3-14. In reply Fox Lodge were simply blown away by the opening attack of Gordon Cooke and Mark Simpson as only Robert Huey with 14 reached double figures. Cooke had the excellent figures of 5-15, Simpson 2-20 and Wasti mopped up the tail with 3-9 as Fox Lodge capitulated making only 54. This win maintains Brigade's title push which seems to be gathering momentum.
