Ballyspallen v Killymallaght

Ballyspallen gained their second league win of the season with a 7 wicket win over Killymallaght. Batting first Killymallaght struggled to cope with the excellent bowing of Ernie Cassidy who took 3 for 11 in his 8 over spell and young Philip Blackburn also performed admirably taking 3 wickets. Creighton Wilson chipped in with 2 wickets at vital times. Gareth McKeegan not for the first time this season top scored with 24. Ballyspallen comfortably reached their target losing only 3 wickets which fell to Nigel McKeegan and Dee Dunn. Ian Crown top scored for the home side with 43, and was well supported by John Thompson, taking a break from umpiring duties, with 20. |
