Creevedonnell v Killymallaght
27 April 2002
Creevedonnell were the sole victors on the opening day in Senior Two when they overcame the challenge of neighbours Killymallaght. Professional Sachin Aradhye had a wonderful start to the new campaign picking up a five wicket haul. For Killymallaght Gareth McKeegan, their new recruit from Bready, top scored with 45. David Cooke made 22 and veteran Raymond Mitchell an unbeaten 14 as Killymallaght totalled 128. Scott Dougherty took 3-31 as well as Aradhye's 5-19. In reply Creevedonnell lost Darren Patterson lbw to David Cooke for 13, but Lee Williamson made a fine return to his old club hitting 30 which included 4 fours and a six. Nigel McKeegan took three quick wickets dismissing Williamson, Don Dougherty and Sachin Aradhye to leave Creevedonnell a little anxious. However thanks to an unbeaten 51 from Trevor Dougherty which had 4 fours and 3 sixes Creevedonnell got home with 6 wickets to spare. Andy McFaul offered sterling support with an undefeated 18. Nigel McKeegan with 3-29 was the best of the Killymallaght attack. |
