Coleraine v St Johnston
18 May 2002

Coleraine moved to joint top of the table after a convincing 9 wicket win over St Johnston. Making first use of the track St Johnston lost the early wickets of Stuart Lapsley and Alan Macbeth to Tim Chopra and Gareth Godfrey. Chopra in particular bowled very well conceding just 4 runs in his 8 over spell. David MacBeth and Johnny Robinson with 20 and 21 looked to be directing St Johnston towards a respectable target but they lost their last 6 wickets for just 7 runs as Rodney Lockhart picked up 4 for 22. Gareth Godfrey finished with 3 for 18 as St Johnston made just 84.

Despite losing Rodney Lockhart for just 5 the Chopra brothers saw Coleraine safely home with no further alarms as Tim Chopra scored a blazing 52 which had 4 fours and 2 sixes. Brother Vischal made 18 as Coleraine reached their target in just 13 overs. Coleraine are certainly proving to be a surprise package.
