Crindle v Coleraine

Coleraine's early season form continued to improve after a 4 wicket win over Crindle. Crindle's total of 129 included 46 from the in form Nigel McElwee (right) and 22 from John Steele. The bowling was dominated by Rodney Lockhart who had a six wicket haul for 27 runs. Keith McIntyre also bowled well taking 2 for 20. In reply Coleraine lost both openers Stephen McCartney and Rodney Lockhart cheaply both dismissed by Ivan McDaid to leave them struggling on 14 for 2. However thanks to a wonderful 72 not out from the hard hitting Vischal Chopra Coleraine reached the target with 4 wickets to spare. His knock included 9 fours and 4 sixes. He was given good support from Geoff Oliver, Tim Chopra and Wilson Torrens who all reached double figures.John Steele Junior with 3-23 was the pick of the bowlers. |
