Creevedonnell v Ballyspallen
11 May 2002
Creevedonnell inflicted a massive 210 run defeat on a demoralised Ballyspallen side who must be rueing their decision to ask the home side to bat. All seven of the Creevedonnell batsmen reached double figures with Darren Patterson and Lee Williamson getting them off to a solid start with 42 and 14 respectively. Trevor Dougherty made 24 before he became one of Ian Crown's 3 victims. Kris Dunn scored an explosive 63 which had 6 fours and 4 sixes, but Stevie Griffiths went for a relatively cheap 15. However there was to be no respite for the Spallen bowlers as Sachin Aradhye hit 2 sixes and 3 fours in his unbeaten 40. The real sting in the tail was the remarkable innings of Andy McFaul whose quickfire 55 included a remarkable 5 sixes and 5 fours as Creevedonnell amassed 268 for 6. Ian Crown with 3 for 49 was the best of the Ballyspallen attack. The Ballyspallen batsmen fared little better than their bowlers as they were simply blown away for just 58. Ian Crown with 14 was their top scorer as no other batsman reached double figures. There were 3 wickets apiece for Brian Dougherty, Sachin Aradhye and Lee Williamson. |
