Ardmore v Creevedonnell
5-6 June 2002

Ardmore had a welcome win over old rivals Creevedonnell to join Coleraine and Burndennett at the top of the table. Ardmore batted first and opened with new recruit Charlie Elder who enjoyed a successful debut. He top scored with 40 and along with Paul Brolly got Ardmore off to a solid start. Brolly was bowled by Brian Dougherty for 14, but Elder and Mark Gillespie took the score onto 79 before 4 wickets fell for just 3 runs. The change bowling of Lee Williamson and Glen Brolly took 2 wickets each and Ardmore were struggling at 82 for 5. A succession of extras saw Ardmore pass the 100 mark before Sachin Ardahye dismissed both Gerard Porter and George Gillen to leave the score on 113 for 7. Ciaran Curley and David McAllister batted sensibly scoring 20 and 19 respectively before falling to Darren Patterson and Ivan Parkhill. Ardmore were all out in the 38th over for 157.

Lee Williamson fell first ball well caught by Charlie Elder off Gerard Brolly. Darren Patterson and Trevor Dougherty then added 39 before both fell in quick succession to Martin Gormley and Charlie Elder. Kris Dunn and Sachin Aradhye looked very comfortable as they took the score onto 83 for 3 before the reintroduction of Ciaran Curley into the attack saw him dismiss Aradhye for 16, Steve Griffiths for 0 and Andy McFaul for 2 to leave Ardmore on top. Kris Dunn and Brian Dougherty then staged a recovery to leave the game in the balance at 127 for 6. However Dunn was well caught in the deep by Gerard Brolly off Mark Gillespie for 45 which included 4 fours and a huge six and from there they were bowled out for 136, 21 runs short.
