Bready win easily thanks to ton from Olphert
Barry Chambers Bready gained their second win of the season thanks to their two main run getters namely Mark Olphert and Wian Smit. Olphert scored a magnificent 111 which included 7 fours and 4 sixes, and Smit made an unbeaten 85 which had 8 fours and 1 six. It was really a 2 man effort as the other 5 Bready batsmen could only manage 8 runs between them in their score of 215 for 6. Simon Dunn took 3 wickets but at a cost of 72 runs. In reply Drummond were bowled out for 146 in the 44th over. Professional Wasim Haider top scored with 55 and openers Chris Moore with 29, and Ian Smith 23, offered a solid start. Spinner Trevor Britton had the impressive figures of 4 for 29, and there was 2 wickets apiece for Roly Black and Richard Hepburn. There was no play on Monday night in the Donemana versus Ardmore game due to a waterlogged pitch. They will now start on Tuesday night along with the Fox Lodge versus Brigade game. The Glendermott v Limavady game which was postponed due to the death of Glendermott member Uel McKnight will now take place on Monday June 9. The two scheduled Samuel Jeffrey Cup games between Crindle and Killymallaght and Bonds Glen and Ballyspallen were both postponed. |
