Report
Ireland's World Cup campaign came to an end with a 69 run defeat against Bangladesh, but it could have been a different story. At one stage in their innings Bangladesh were 76 for five but they recovered to total 196 in 48.5 overs, Dwayne McGerrigle and Conor Armstrong picking up seven wickets between them although spinners Andrew White and Keith Hogg were the most economical of the Irish bowlers.
Ireland's batting stuttered in reply against opening bowler Ranjan Das and three batsmen failed to get off the mark. Niall O'Brien top scored with 36 as Ireland had to content themselves with joint tenth place in the tournament, compared with 13th in South Africa two years ago.
