The Argentine Cricket Association today announced that Mr Gary Savage (right) has resigned from his position as CEO, effective immediately. The South African-born Savage will however be remaining in Argentina with his family in order to pursue other interests and projects. He had been part of the administrative set-up of Argentine cricket for the past five years.
President of the Argentine Cricket Association, Mr Ricardo Lord, made the following statement:
"We are in a process of restructuring the Association in terms of staff and organisation, as well as entering a new phase of development in Argentine cricket. Gary was offered a different position within the new structure, which he declined, and thereafter, for personal reasons, he decided he did not wish to continue on the ACA staff and submitted his resignation, which we accepted.
"We are extremely grateful to Gary for the years of hard work and effort he has put in as an administrator for Argentine cricket, and naturally wish him well in his future endeavours. Although regrettably no longer part of the office team, we obviously look forward to Gary being an important part of the national playing team for many years to come."
The Argentine Cricket Association will make an announcement in due course regarding the now vacant CEO post, as well as other staff changes. In the interim, all enquiries to the Argentine Cricket Association should be sent to [email protected] and/or [email protected].
