Bermuda Royal Gazette logoBermuda players celebrate the fall of a Ugandan wicket (Photo: ICC/Earl Basden)Bermuda dug themselves out of one hole today and immediately jumped into another one with both feet.

Having bowled Uganda out for 119 just after lunch, they then proceeded to pick up where they left off in the first innings of this Intercontinental Shield game, giving soft wickets away.

The day started brightly, with spinner Rodney Trott taking his first five-wicket haul in a four-day game, as the tourists collapsed from 74 for four overnight to 119 all out.

Staring at a deficit of just 28, Bermuda were in a much better position than might have been expected after being bowled out for 91 the first time around.

But the lose shots that had cost them so dearly first time around resurfaced, and they were two down with only 20 on the board.

In a game beset by rain delays, Bermuda eventually ended the day on 74 for four, a lead of just 46, but David Hemp is still at the crease, and given the events of the first two days, a lead of 150 might well be defendable.

The two hours that have been lost to rain so far will be made up tomorrow (Wednesday), with play starting half-an-hour earlier at 10 a.m.
