Stuart Chalmers, the Watsonians all-rounder, has been called into the Scotland squad to face Afghanistan in the forthcoming Intercontinental Cup final in Dubai. The five-day match takes place from Thursday-Monday December 2-6.

Chalmers is coming off the back of an excellent domestic season in Scotland where he took the most wickets (34) in the Premier League, as well as averaging over 20 with the bat. The 28-year-old has represented his country in two ODIs and, if selected in the final eleven for the match, it would be his first-class debut.

Chalmers has replaced Dewald Nel, who has withdrawn from the squad through injury.

The Scotland squad leaves for Dubai on Tuesday November 23, to prepare for the final.
