Killyclooney picked up their first league win of the season when they saw off another side who were still without a point, Burndennett, at home on Wednesday evening. The visitors had batted first 24 hours earlier and had posted a very competitive 230 for 9 in their 40 overs. Mark Doherty led the way hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes in his 88 whilst Stephen McCay added 44 and Davy Magee 27. Skipper Richard McMorris and Richard Barr picked up three wickets apiece while Mark Snodgrass got two for the hosts.

Undaunted. Killyclooney started their chase and lost a few wickets early on before Mark Gordon and Sammy McElhatton turned the game their way. Both men have been in good touch this season already and both made half centuries here; Gordon blasting 5 fours and 5 sixes in his 63 and McElhatton hitting 8 fours and a six in adding 54. That laid the foundations for Killyclooney to get over the line with 4 wickets and nearly 4 overs still intact. The win lifts Richard McMorris's side off the bottom but things aren't getting any easier for Burndennett.
