Local cricket, and there were wins for Limavady and Glendermott in last night's Senior One games.

Four wickets for former Irish international Nigel Thompson helped Limavady skittle Coleraine for just 86 - The Bannsiders never recovering from losing openers David Cooke and Ian McGregor for ducks - indeed, no fewer than six of the Coleraine batsmen failed to score.

Pakistan Test player Mohammed Salman was the only Coleraine player to offer any semblance of resistance, as he scored 27 as his side slumped to a 144 run defeat.

Limavady now have four points - two behind leaders Brigade.

Joining them on four points are Glendermott who won a tight encounter against Eglinton by two wickets. Sri Lankan professional Roy Silva top scored with 49 as Glendermott chased down their 175 target with six balls to spare. Skipper Gordon Montogmery and Simon Killen both made 29, while Charlie Elder made a vital 21 not out.

With four runs needed from the final 7 balls, Rodney Pearson proved the hero as he struck the first ball he faced out of the ground to clinch the win.

In Senior Two, half centuries from Mark Gordon and Sammy McElhatton saw Killyclooney chase down 230 to beat Burndennett by four wickets.
