Strabane duly completed a 68-run win over Coleraine on Tuesday evening to move back onto the tails of the leaders in the Billy Henderson Properties Division 1 title race.
No play was possible on Monday after the Bannsiders had closed on 187 for 4 at the weekend in reply to Strabane's 297 for 3 but with Mohammad Salman and Ian McGregor already out the visitors knew that David Cooke was pivotal to their chances of pulling off another massive run chase.
The all-rounder resumed on 47 not out but was then trapped lbw in Phil Eaglestone's first over after the re-start and despite Scott Campbell resisting for a while with his 31, Strabane had too much in the locker for the lower order.
In all Coleraine added just 42 more runs on the final evening to close on 229 all out, Eaglestone with 4 for 37 and Mark Roulston (2 for 49) the pick of the Red Caps attack.
