It is advantage Donemana at the top of the Billy Henderson Properties North West table after Richard Kee's side edged out Limavady in an excellent contest at the Holm on Thursday night.
Having been set 211 to win by the Roesiders the previous evening things started badly for the cup finalists as Ryan Hunter and skipper Kee were both out with just 4 runs on the board.
Andy McBrine and professional Kamran Sajid led a recovery to bring Donemana back into it before the former fell to Simon Dunn in his first over. Father replaced son as Junior joined Sajid in the middle and that pair put their side firmly in the driving seat as Limavady were unable to stem a steady flow of runs.
At 137 for 3 the Holm lads were well on top before a needless run out ended McBrine's evening. Sajid looked frustrated and he followed soon after having made 65 and Limavady sensed they had a chance.
Dwayne McGarrigle and Ricky-Lee Dougherty went cheaply as well to leave Donemana teetering on 158 for 7 before Graeme Boyd and Ritchie McBrine rode their luck and then took the fight to the visitors with a 56-run match-winning stand.
The win sends the 2008 champions 2 points clear going into this pivotal double fixture weekend.
