Bready made a very good start to their re-arranged game at home to Coleraine on Monday eveing, the cup holders closing on 226 for 5 in their 40 overs at a chilly Magheramason.

For once David Rankin wasn't among the runs; the big opener caught by Wilson Torrens off the bowling of Stephen Dunn for just 15 but the rest of the order was on form in a solid showing with the bat.

Brian Scanlon made 38 before being caught at the wicket by Paul Douglas before a 99-run partnership between Agha Sabir Ali and Steven Clarke put the hosts in charge. Clarke hit 64 in even time while his team-mate cracked 11 fours before being run out for 72.

Coleraine looked slightly subdued without professional Mohammad Salman who is heading back to Pakistan on Thursday and Scott Campbell on Ireland duty at the U-19 qualifiers and in the end they were probably happy that the total wasn't even higher.

Dunn, David Cooke, Andrew Douglas and Johnny Martin all picked up a wicket each but much will depend on Cooke and Ian McGregor if the Bannsiders are to make a fight of it on Tuesday evening.
