There was a thrilling finish to Bready's game with Coleraine on Tuesday evening as the hosts closed out a 9-run win thanks in the main to a fine spell of bowling from their professional Agha Sabir Ali.

Chasing 226 Ian and Calum McGregor put on 36 for the first wicket before the latter was run out, senior no doubt claiming that jumior wasn't backing up, junior likely to insist it was never a run, and both absolutely correct.

Vischal Chopra and Ian McGregor then fell in quick succession, the latter for a well played 40 before a superb partnership between Paul Douglas and David Cooke put Coleraine back in front. Douglas showed great maturity and hit 8 fours in his 72 while Cooke chipped in with a valuable 45 in their 120-run stand.

At 183 for 3 there looked only one winner before Sabir rejoined the attack; having Douglas stumped to put the pressure back on the Bannsiders. They went into the last over needing ten to win and with three wickets in hand but Sabir required just four balls to kill off the tail with the help of Rankin behind the stumps and hand the points to the cup winners.

Coleraine, like most spectators will wonder how they managed to lose this one but to be fair it was a great effort without Salman and Campbell.
