Drummond stayed in the Division 2 promotion race on Friday evening when closing out a 5-wicket win at home to The Nedd in a game that was suspended on Thursday with just 4 overs left to play.

The visitors had posted a fighting 115 for 2 in their 20 overs courtesy of 44 from opener Kyle Morrow and an unbeaten 29 from Martin Mehaffey. Drummond looked to be struggling in reply when they reached 76 for 5 after 16 overs before the umpires decided that enough was enough.

Gordon Cooke was unbeten on 33 at that stage and when the sides joined battle for what was just the final 15 minutes on Friday evening, the former Ireland man raced past his half century as he and Damien Carlin ensured no further damage.

Drummond 116-5-19.2 (G Cooke 55*, D Carlin 24*) beat The Nedd 115-2-20 (K Morrow 44, M Mehaffey 29*) by 5 wickets
