BRIGADE GO TOP AS RACE GOES TO WIRE

Brigade duly wrapped up the points from their midweek game at home to Limavady to pull two points clear at the top of the Billy Henderson Properties senior 1 table on Thursday evening.

Few would have given the Roesiders much chance of pegging back the hosts massive 253 for 3 from the previous night and so it proved as the Waterside men had a whopping 127 runs to spare at the end.

Skipper Andrew Riddles top scored with 25 and Tom Riddles made 23 but such was Limavady's week that 34 extras was the main reason why they got as close as they did. Trevor Britton with 3 for 13 and Iftikhar Hussain (3 for 20) were Brigade's best bowlers on a night when they threw down the gauntlet in no uncertain manner.
