The North West cricket season may have gone into overtime already but there is still no inkling of how things are going to pan out after the major issues were carried on into another week.

With Limavady knowing exactly what they had to do going into Sunday's game at Bready the pressure was on the Roesiders, but Andrew Riddles have certainly given themselves a fighting chance of taking Brigade to Eglinton next weekend. Steven Clarke was the thorn in Limavady's side in last week's reverse fixture and the right hander was again among the runs as Bready were pulled up just two runs short of 200. Clarke made 60 and found willing partners in Agha Sabir Ali and Mark Olphert while there were two wickets apiece for Victor McDaid and Simon Dunn. Limavady's reply was just 3 overs old when the rains came and the Roesiders will now be hoping that there is enough room over the next two evenings to take us to the wire.

No such problems at Bonds Glen where the Bee Gees ensured that Eglinton's celebrations on Saturday were cut short after they accounted for Strabane in their 20/20 replay. Gihan Dilruk has certainly stood up to be counted for his side in their relegation scrap and he was central to the win here with both bat and ball. The Sri Lankan hit 8 fours and 6 sixes in his superb 80 and a useful 36 from Johnny Haslett allowed the home side to set a daunting target of 186. The reigning champions rarely looked like overhauling that but any slight chance they did have was blown away by Dilruk who claimed 5 for 12 to the delight of the home support. Just one game each left at the bottom now and these two points could be absolutely critical in the battle to beat the drop.
