Instonians had most of their success in cup competitions last year with winning the Ulster Cup for the second successive season, an All Ireland Final loss to Waringstown and a semi final loss to Waringstown in the Senior Cup.
While league form was patchy at times it was a credible season, most of which was spent without a professional. The bulk of the runs came from the top four, McCann, Stevenson, White and young James Shannon, finally fulfilling his potential with some outstanding performances.
This season Instonians have added the services of Mick Delaney from Adelaide as their overseas professional and he arrives to add pace and bite to a useful bowling attack which includes Ireland 'A' left arm spinner Ben Wylie.
There is no doubt that this is a big season for Instonians as they strive to further their efforts of last year and if the top four fire with the bat and a bowling attack of Moleon, Delaney, White, Wylie, Rushe and Sheard they may not be far away.
