MEANWHILE ambitious Kelburne have signed two international stars in a bid to win promotion from the Western First Division.

Scotland batsman Omer Hussain and Dutch spinner Mo Kashif are on the move to the Paisley club along with former Greenock spinner Dougie Wylie.

Hussain and Wylie are returning to their roots after coming through the ranks at Kelburne a decade ago.

Elsewhere, Ayr have unearthed an able replacement for crocked Kiwi Hamish Rutherford.

The Cambusdoon club’s hopes of welcoming in-form Rutherford were dashed when the top order batsman broke a finger – ironically while scoring a career best 239 last month.

However, Ayr have moved swiftly to sign South African Craig Thyssen as professional.

The former Stenhousemuir star’s 190 against Stoneywood-Dyce three years ago is still the fifth highest individual score in SNCL history.
