Campbell College recorded a shock one wicket win against MCB on Friday in a truly nail-biting encounter.
David Gibson, batting at number 7, proved the hero for Campbell. He struck 2 fours and 4 sixes in his 57 not out, sharing a vital last wicket partnership of 14 with Paul Moses.
The win had looked extremely unlikley after Irish youth international James McCollum had blown away the Campbell top order to claim 5 for 12.
McCollum had earlier made 56 (7 fours, 1 six) in a Methody total of 149-5 in 30 overs. He received good support from Mark Berry who made 27, while Adam Pollard (2-32) was the most successful bowler for Campbell.
