Time then for Andy to put on his tipster's hat and run the rule over Saturday's schedule as he bids to take the lead in what has been a pretty disappointing start to the players' forecast charts although Johnny Thompson is insisting he's out in front.

BRIGADE V BONDS GLEN

“It's very difficult to imagine anything other than a home win in this one and although “Mackey” will have his team ready for a tilt at the champions they look out of their depth. Johnny Thompson has the potential to be one of the best bowlers in the country if he gets it right and Brigade's attack looks way too strong as they bid to bounce back from a hammering at Bready”.

GLENDERMOTT V BREADY

“The Magheramason side has really impressed me so far and I think Ian Young is another player who can have a very big season. Davy Scanlon is also a very useful player when he bowls in the right areas and after losing at home to Creevedonnell, Glendermott need to find some form. I just can't see how they can win this though”.

CREEVEDONNELL V FOX LODGE

“This could be a lot more difficult to call than people might think especially with Stephen Scroggie's side at home and sure to be in good form after winning at The Rectory and putting up an excellent show against North County. Fox Lodge's bowling should be better than the home team; Johnny Robinson, Andy McGinnis and Gareth Heywood all very good performers while Creevedonnell will rely heavily on Gary Neely. The batting looks stronger too with Brian Allen, Jason Milligan and Robinson and McGinnis all capable of big runs so Fox Lodge should win”.

COLERAINE V STRABANE

“Like everybody else I think Coleraine have improved again this year but I just think they are still a strike bowler light of top class. Stevie Dunn gives them a real edge but they still look to just be hunting for a long-term partner for him. Strabane looked useful enough against us but I really feel that this could be decided by professionals. If Strabane's man plays I think they can nick it; if he doesn't, Coleraine could take advantage”.

And finally LIMAVADY V DONEMANA.

“Has to be a home win all day long. We'll be at full strength and Donemana will know what to expect- boundary ropes pushed back and all!. They're always big games between this pair of course but we're confident we have plenty in the tank to get our season back on track”.
