CROCKED Saltires bowlers Gordon Goudie and Safy Sharif will miss at least another two CB40 games.

The pace pair, both suffering from damaged ribs, have been out of action since the World T20 qualifiers two months ago.

Coach Pete Steindl has already ruled them out of Sunday’s clash with Hampshire at Uddingston and the trip to Durham the following week.

And Steindl fears they could even miss the double-header at Hampshire and Surrey early next month.

He said: “Gordon and Safy are still at least two weeks away from being fully fit.

“I’m not convinced they will play any part in the first half of our CB40 campaign.

“Safy did play a couple of games for his club but has had a bit of a set back. Both lads are only bowling at about 60% and we can’t afford to rush them.”

The absence of Goudie and Sharif has paved the way for Derbyshire’s Ali Evans to make his first CB40 appearances.

However, the former Carlton bowler’s ongoing availability will depend on county commitments.
