SCOTLAND’s emerging stars fought back from a horror start to record a battling win against Durham Academy.

Chasing the county’s 181-8, a Scots Development XI slumped to 6-2 after the early loss of Ewan Chalmers and Andi McElnea at Stirling.

However, teenagers Andrew Umeed and Nick Farrar led the recovery with a half-century partnership.

The pair, bound for the U19 World Cup later this year, scored 41 and 28 respectively to put the run-chase firmly on course.

Local Stirling star Josh Edwards then led the victory charge with a hard-hitting 57 not out.

Earlier, John Hutton and Keith Morton each claimed two wickets as the Scots produced a disciplined display in the field.
