FREUCHIE will take the wrappers off their newly-signed pro when they square up to Falkland in the mid-Fife derby today.

Usman Saeed arrived in the country this week and spokesman John Anderson revealed there is a lot of anticipation in the club.

Ahead of the Scroggie Park showdown, he said: "Uzi wasted no time in getting to know his team-mates and acclimatising to the conditions.

"He came straight off the plane and into the nets!

"He is a top quality batsmen and also a leg-spinner, something we haven't had here for quite a while.

"I think he will be a really valuable addition to our squad."

There is another intriguing derby in the Eastern First Division as Fauldhouse entertain West Lothian.

In the Western Division, Kelburne welcome old rivals Poloc - with both teams determined to hit back in the wake of morale-sapping defeats last weekend.

The Paisley men were outgunned by Weirs, while the Shawholm troops were pipped by Prestwick.

Poloc are boosted by the return of Euan Sheridan, who replaces Elliot Rousen. Spokesman Keith Young said: "Euan will bring good balance to the side. His left-arm spin bowling and technically sound top-order batting adds strength in depth.

"Kelburne are a good blend of youngsters and proven performers such as Dougie Wylie and Omer Hussain."

The other three tussles in the division should be close affairs with East Kilbride, Ferguslie and Renfrew facing Prestwick, Weirs and Stenhousemuir respectively.
