DONEMANA
It's hard to know where to start in a season when the Holm side dominated the domestic scene so emphatically and also reached the last four in both the inter-provincial competitions as well.
They claimed the Derry Midweek League's Charity Cup at the start of the season (and the Faughan Valley in the middle of it) before going on to complete a league and cup double for the first time in 20 years.
The well documented loss of Andy McBrine and Ryan Hunter was nowhere near as costly this year as last and testimony to the strength in depth at the club, skipper Richard Kee was happy to fill the void with a trio of youth players who certainly didn't let him down.
I wouldn't want to be counting back to see how long it has been since a side did the double with three under-15's playing in the cup final and the league run-in but that's how it was at the Tyrone club this summer.
As you might expect, the stats were very impressive with no fewer than six players breaking the 500-run barrier. Kamran Sajid was miles in front in the region's scoring charts with 1447 runs averaging over 53 a time and including 13 fifties and 2 hundreds.
Andy McBrine made 720 at over 55 with Ricky Lee Dougherty hitting 645 runs for an average of 29. Junior McBrine (570), Ryan Hunter (553) and skipper Kee (509) were the others to pass the landmark while Dwayne McGarrigle with 446 wasn't far off making it 7.
The bowling stats were equally impressive, Junior with a stunning 60 wickets at less than 13 apiece, Sajid with 52 at 19 and James McBrine 41 at just over 20 leading the way.
Andy McBrine and Jordan McGonigle both picked up 32 wickets each while William McBrine claimed 21 in his debut senior season.
Cup success and a four times postponed quarter final tie with Glendermott meant a demanding late league schedule but Donemana made light of it to cap a truly remarkable year.
