RUN-hungry Ryan Flannigan is ready to make up for an action-starved Scottish summer in sunny South Africa. The Grange batsman managed just sixteen innings during the entire season back home.
And he could almost match that number of appearances during the Saltires’ month-long tour.
After arriving in Johannesburg last night Flannigan said: “The weather was so bad during the summer that I only batted about sixteen times.
“I felt completely under-cooked and it’s just great to have this tour to look forward to. It’s possible that anyone who plays in all our games here will get as much action in one month as they did throughout the season in Scotland.”
The Scots have just one day to acclimatise before a potential T20 baptism of fire tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday. They face the Highveld Lions on Tuesday before tackling IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders the following day in a match which has been put back 24 hours at the request of the KKR.
