Terenure Cricket Club seeks to appoint a suitably qualified Director of Coaching for the 2013 season.
Reporting to the Chairman of the Cricket Committee the Director of Coaching will be responsible for meeting the Clubs overall goals and objectives relating to both team and individual performance and development.
Remuneration will be aligned to the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
Primary Role Objectives:
- Develop the overall Coaching blueprint for the Club – from Academy through to First team
- Coordinate coaching activities across all teams
- Structure and deliver an outreach coaching program to local primary and secondary schools to ensure a strong flow of younger members from these schools into the Club
- Develop and run a midweek Youth Cricket Academy
- Liaise with senior team captains to ensure that youth players are properly managed as they enter adult cricket are given the best opportunities to develop their game and that senior players make the best use of practice sessions to improve their skills
- Work with the Club’s management team to establish the best possible coaching and playing environment for both junior and senior members and help take the Club to the next level in terms of organisation and team management
Main Duties:
- Monitor and develop the skills of the Club’s coaches
- Plan, organise and manage the Club’s junior coaching programme – including the development of the midweek Youth Academy
- Deliver cricket coaching for the Club’s junior section Academy for talented players
- Plan and oversee the Club’s senior coaching programme
- Deliver cricket coaching for Club’s schools outreach programme
Qualifications Required
- ECB Level 2 or equivalent
- Previous experience in a school or club coaching capacity
- Previous experience in High Performance and/or Representative Player Development
- Garda Clearance (in line with the Irish Sports Council 'Code of Ethics & Good Practice for Children's Sport')
- Applicants must also be qualified to live and work in Ireland
