Leinster Senior Two side Terenure have emerged as surprise contenders to sign former Irish international Decker Curry.

The club, relegated from the top flight last season, are keen to revitalise cricket in the area, and the capture of one of Irish cricket's most flamboyant cricketers would certainly do that.

Curry is keen on a new challenge following the withdrawal of Limavady from senior cricket last week, and the idea of a move to a new Union is thought to appeal to the 46 year old.

Factors against Terenure are the distances involved in a weekly commute, and their presence in the second rather the first tier of Leinster cricket.

There have been no shortage of offers as expected from NW clubs, with Strabane being the favourite to capture Curry.

However, it appears that Curry has grown unsure about a move to the Tyrone club, and is keen to keep his options open - a move which may yet see the man who has 92 senior hundreds to his name compete for the first time in Leinster domestic cricket.
