RUSH

It's very much a case of  as you were with Rush, as there has been no major transfer activity over the winter months. There are a couple of young fringe players back from sojourns abroad last year and they will strengthen the overall squad. The majority of their squad is home grown with a few exceptions such as the vastly experienced and talented Saadat Gull (Tipu) and Shahid Iqbal.

With much the same team as last year Rush will be looking to bring on some of the younger talent coming up through the ranks while remaining competitive in Division 2 - the club finished mid table in 2012 winning five and losing seven of their 12 league games.

The club will look for emerging young talents from lower teams coming to contest first team places as the year progresses. Among those are a young batsman called Sean Monks who shows good potential.

Jayo Burke is a very promising opening bowler and the expect good things from him in the future. James King, winner of last years Division 2 keeping award for most dismissals, will look to push on this year both with gloves and the bat.

A club spokesman said: "Division Two of the LCU is very competitive this year and we would be happy to consolidate our position in the division. With a strong Cup pedigree Rush will again be looking to make an impact on both 50 over and 20/20 competitions."
