Leinster Under 13s started the defence of their Taunton Festival crown in spectatcular fashion with a convincing 99 run win against Yorkshire.

A solid batting display by Leinster saw them post 214 for 9 in their 50 overs, with Stephen Keane leading the way with an unbeaten 57.

There were also fine knocks from Max Neville (32), JJ Garth (28), and Harry Tector (24), as they recovered from a precarious start having been 133 for 7 at one stage.

Best with the ball for Yorkshire were Alex Kennedy with 3-35 and Ali-Hasan Ahmed who claimed 2 for 22.

Aaron O'Neill then ripped through the Yorkshire top order proving virtually unplayable as he took 3 for 8 in his ten over spell.

Skipper Harry Tector (2-25) and Aviral Shukla (2-5) offered excellent support as Yorkshire were skittled for 115, with only Billy Whitford (20) offering any resistance.

The Leinster good news story rolls on with yet another win against English county opposition - hopefully there will be more to report in the coming week!
