A poor weather forecast threatens to delay the final round of games in the RSA Leinster League today but, if they can get a positive result, The Hills will win the Division One title for the first time in five years.
They go into their last game, against already relegated Phoenix in the Park, with a lead of 11 points so even the narrowest of victories will be enough to secure the title. But the league leaders will be taking nothing for granted because it was the minimum margin which won the first game between the teams back at Milverton in June, when The Hills scraped home chasing 247.
The common denominator between the two games is that Ireland international Max Sorensen is again missing, all he can do is follow the match from Belfast.
In contrast, Merrion, hoping for a slip-up by The Hills, are at full strength for their home game against North County who are missing both John Mooney and Irelands newest cap Eddie Richardson.
Early season favourites YMCA are the other team still in with a mathematical chance of lifting the title, but they know they are clutching at straws by hoping that both The Hills and Merrion lose and even then they may need to get maximum points from their home D4 derby against Pembroke.
