Cricket Ireland
The game is administered by the Cricket Ireland Board (see Administration).
Five Provincial Unions
Northern |
(based on Belfast):
50 clubs who field 137 teams
At youth level there are Under 13, Under 15 and Under 19 Leagues and Cups.
39 schools are jointly affiliated to the Northern and North West Unions. |
North West |
(based on Londonderry):
27 clubs who field 58 teams.
39 schools are jointly affiliated to the Northern and North West Unions. |
Leinster |
(based on Dublin):
40 clubs who field 97 teams.
20 schools are affiliated.
At youth level there are Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 18Leagues and Cups. |
Munster |
(based on Cork):
21 clubs who field 32 teams.
Youth cricket is mostly played in clubs. |
Connacht |
(based on Galway):
9 clubs who field 11 teams
The youth section is in initial development. |
Numbers (including youth cricketers) are between 24,000 and 25,000.
All Unions play league and cup cricket at many levels.
There is an Irish Senior Cup which usually includes 36 teams. This cup is currently called the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup.
