Scotland v Afghanistan
Shahzad man of the match
Andrew Nixon at The Grange, Edinburgh
5:35 PM Mohammad Shahzad is unsurprisingly the man of the match after his 75 from 36 balls.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Afghanistan win by 37 runs
Andrew Nixon at The Grange, Edinburgh
5:29 PM Mommsen continued to hit out, but he finally came unstuck when he holed out to Shafiqullah on the boundary having scored 44.

Leask was out in similar fashion soon afterwards, and that meant the game was all but over for Scotland. There were a couple more boundaries, but Scotland were bowled out for 173.

A number of the raucous Afghan fans invaded the field to celebrate their teams pretty comprehensive victory.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Scotland 153-5 from 16 overs
Andrew Nixon at The Grange, Edinburgh
5:10 PM Shortly after my previous update Berrington holed out to Shafiqullah at long on with the score on 111. Mommsen took a liking to Dawlat Zadran, taking 24 from the 15th over.

Quite remarkably, Scotland have got themselves an ever so slight chance of a win. Leask survived a stumping appeal - made by keeper Shahzad even though he'd clearly broken the stumps without holding the ball.

Scotland need 58 from 4 overs with five wickets in hand. If they bat like Afghanistan did at the end of their innings, this is gettable.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Scotland 104-4 from 12 overs
Andrew Nixon at The Grange, Edinburgh
4:53 PM Matthew Cross was doing his best to take the fight to the Afghan bowlers, hitting some big sixes of his own before he skied one that was gratefully caught by Mohammad Nabi off his own bowling.

Berrington is currently unbeaten on 14, and he has been joined by his captain Preston Mommsen. Another big hitting display from him would be welcome today, but is it too late?
Scotland v Afghanistan
Scotland 65-3 from 8 overs
Andrew Nixon at The Grange, Edinburgh
4:37 PM Shortly after my last update, Calum MacLeod played an outrageous scoop shot over fine leg for six off the bowling of Hamid Hassan.

Soon afterwards Kyle Coetzer flicked the ball straight into the waiting hands of Mohammad Nabi at mid-off, and MacLeod was run out for 19 in the next over.

Berrington and Cross are the batsmen now at the crease, and Scotland are in dire need of a big partnership between these two if they're to have any hope.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Scotland 27-1 from 4 overs
Andrew Nixon at The Grange, Edinburgh
4:19 PM Taking over from my colleague Bertus for the Afghan run chase here at the Grange, to see if I can bring a change of fortune for the Scottish side.

Opener Munsey tried to hit out in the second over but was caught on the boundary by Samiullah Shenwari. Kyle Coetzer was his fellow opener and he is currently unbeaten on 13. Calum MacLeod is his partner at the crease.
Statistics Snippet
Afghanistan's total of 210-5 is their highest in an international T20, beating their T20I record of 174-8 against Canada in 2012 and their previous best in a WT20Q, 177-5 against Bermuda in the same tournament. It is, indeed, the third-highest by anyone in a WT20Q, only Ireland - who have the overall record of 225-7 against the Afghans themselves - having gone higher.

Scotland v Afghanistan
Afghanistan 210-5 closed
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
3:43 PM Well just dreadful from Scotland frankly, just kept mindlessly banging it in short, Afghans gleefully putting them in the crowd. Najibullah falls victim to a smart piece of work from Sharif, who pulls the stump out of the ground after a Nabi drive breaks the stumps at the bowler's end, but he has a huge grin on his face as he walks off. Nabi smashes a rank full toss over long on and into the groundsman's shed off the last ball - pretty much sums up the innings really.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Nabi and Najib turn the screw, Afghanistan 178-4 after 8 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
3:34 PM Scotland just falling apart, Nabi dropped at deep third man, he and Najibullah take 32 off the next two overs, sixes raining down and anything less than 200 would be a surprise now.

Scots belatedly fight back, Afghanistan 139-4 after 15 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
3:20 PM De Lange brings an end to the rampage, Shahzad holing out to long-n where Leask redeems himself for yesterday, and Stanikzai falling victim to the tightest of tight run out calls two balls later. Scotland have kept a lid on things since, with no boundaries coming in the last five overs.

Scratch that, for as I write, Shinwari smashes Leask back over his head twice in a row. And as I write that, he is caught slog sweeping on the rope behind square leg.
Canada v Oman
Maqsood man of the match
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
3:12 PM And Zeeshan Maqsood is indeed the man of the match. No surprises there.

Despite what the ICC have just tweeted, this is actually Oman's second win in World Twenty20 qualifier. They also won the 15th place play-off against Denmark in 2012.
Statistics Snippet
Zeeshan Maqsood's unbeaten 41-ball 86 is the highest individual score for Oman in a WT20Q, and his third-wicket stand of 35 with Mehran Khan was also an Omani record.
Canada v Oman
Oman win by 7 wickets (DLS)
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
3:07 PM Well absolutely amazing stuff from Zeeshan Maqsood. He finishes on 86 from 41 balls as Oman complete a 7 wicket win.

You won't see many finer displays of hitting in the tournament than that. He hit nine fours and five sixes. He's scored 199 in a 50 over game before, so we knew he was capable of big scores, but it's been a while since he did it.

Breathtaking stuff. Waiting for the man of the match decision, but there's only really one choice.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Carnage. Afghanistan 112-2 after 11 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
2:59 PM Four count: 8. Six count: 8. Shahzad run count: 75. Afghan flag count: 16.

Way too much short stuff from Scotland, "bowl sh*te like that no wonder it goes to the boundary" comes the muttering from the scorers' box.
Statistics Snippet
This partnership between Shahzad and Stanikzai is Afghanistan's first century stand in international T20 cricket, and it is definitely one to remember!
Statistics Snippet
Zeeshan Maqsood's fifty for Oman against Canada came from 16 balls. There have only been 8 faster half-centuries in the 12 year history of List A Twenty20 matches.
Canada v Oman
Maqsood smashing it to all parts
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
Zeeshan Maqsood is playing absolutely sensational cricket in Stirling. Oman are on 116-2 after 8 overs and Maqsood has scored 75 from just 30 balls, including five huge sixes. He brought up his fifty in just 16 balls.

This game is definitely Oman's now. Hard to see Canada recovering from Maqsood's onslaught.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Shahzad carves up Scots attack, Afghanistan 84-1 after 8 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
2:47 PM Afghanistan take 64 off the powerplay, Shahzad brings up fifty off 26 balls with five sixes and three fours, Stanikzai getting into the action at the other end with a big six into the press enclave off de Lange, the Sun's out and the flags are flying - 14 I count now. One good over to start for the hosts but now it's all Afghanistan.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea win by 24 runs.
David Doey at Bready
Despite a boundary from Tony Kay there are only eight runs scored in the 17th over. Corey Bisson tries to clear the boundary but is well caught off the bowling of Vanua. Tony Kay mistimes the last ball of the over to give Vanua his third wicket. The ninth wicket falls in the 19th over as Rhys Palmer miscues to cover. An unlikely 28 runs needed off the last over. John Boge Reva wraps it all up as he bowls Perchard to leave Jersey 24 runs short.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Shahzad cuts loose after Mangal duck, Afghanistan 39-1 after 4 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
2:31 PM Crowd still building here, no less than eleven Afghan flags flying already. Not much to cheer for initially, Michael Leask's opening over goes for just two and finds Mangal missing a sweep to a straight one. Shahzad brings them to life with consecutive sixes off Watt, gets a lifeline as MacLeod steps on the boundary catching a third, and then Shahzad adds insult to injury with another huge maximum over long off. A brief shower comes too late to help Scotland, and they're braving the weather regardless.
Canada v Oman
Oman 63-0 from 4 overs
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
2:28 PM Sensational stuff in Stirling from Zeeshan Maqsood. He hit the last three balls of the third over for sixes and is currently unbeaten on 43 from 16 balls.

Oman are 63-0 after 4 overs, and what looked liked a tricky chase has suddenly become a lot easier.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
Jersey 104 for 6 off 16 overs
David Doey at Bready
2:17 PM Jonty Jenner hoists Vala for a massive six (lost ball) and follows it with a four. 15 runs off that over- exactly what Jersey needed. Jenner continues to push on at the start of the 14th over as he hits another four but is caught out next ball off the bowling of Gavera. Still eight runs off the over which is just below the asking rate.

John Boge Reva into the attack for the first time and Jersey score eight again from the over. A mix up at the start of the 16th over sees Nat Watkins run out. Ben Stevens then hits a four but is caught next ball. Could this be the over that clinches it for PNG? 42 needed off 4 overs.
Canada v Oman
Oman to chase 135
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
2:07 PM Duckworth/Lewis, or DLS as we are now supposed to call it has adjusted the target only slightly, and Oman are chasing 135, one less than they scored in 20 overs against Kenya yesterday.

They've started brightly though, taking 16 from the opening over, including 4 leg byes.

Jersey v Papua New Guinea
Jersey are 68 for 3 off 12 overs.
David Doey at Bready
1:57 PM Dai continues to bowl tight as the 9th over only goes for three runs. A bit more urgency from Jonty Jenner in the 10th over but boundaries are needed now. Score at halfway point is 61 for 1. Dai gets his reward at the start of the 11th over as Bodenstein holes out to long on for 10. Only four runs off the over. Amini keeps things tight as he only concedes 3 runs. 78 runs needed off 8 overs at a rate of 9.75.
Scotland v Afghanistan
Afghanistan win the toss and will bat
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
1:53 PM Welcome back to the Grange for today's second match, change of colours for me in deference to our hosts, who take on Afghanistan here now. The news from the middle is that Afghanistan have won the toss and will bat first. They'll be unchanged for this match, Scotland bring in Con de Lange at the expense of Josh Davey. Bit of rain about and appreciably darker, though we've been spared for now. Wind really picking up though.
Canada v Oman
Canada 133-3 from 13 overs
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
1:53 PM A pretty useful batting performance from Canada here in Stirling as they rack up 133-3 from their 13 overs.

Nitish Kumar brought up his 50 in 24 balls but was run out soon afterwards, having scored 52 from 25 balls.

I think Duckworth/Lewis will adjust this target upwards for the Omanis who are likely to find it a very tricky chase indeed.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
Jersey are 49 for 2 after 8 overs
David Doey at Bready
1:43 PM The scoreboard pressure tells as Gough is caught at short fine leg by Vanua off the bowling of Willie Gavera. Gavera is bowling with excellent pace but he is no balled for height which under the new regulations is a free hit. Only five runs off the over. Bonus runs in the 6th over as Chad Soper fires one down leg side for 5 wides. Jonty Jenner then clears the boundary for the first maximum of the innings. However Soper has the last laugh when Farley holes out to long on to leave Jersey 34 for 2 at the end of the power play. At the same stage PNG were 54 for 1. New bowler Mahuru Dai keeps it tight as onkly two runs come off 7th over. The 8th over brings a four and a six and with 12 overs left Jersey need 97 runs at just over 8 an over.

Canada v Oman
Canada 74-2 after 8 overs
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
The scoring rate slowed a little after Cheema's dismissal, with Gunasekera able to score 18 from 22 balls before he was out.

Nitish Kumar is looking in good form, and he is currently unbeaten on 24 from 12 balls.

Some acceleration, and a favourable Duckworth/Lewis calculation, and Oman could be facing a tricky run chase once the 13 overs are up.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
Jersey are 15 for 0 off 4 overs
David Doey at Bready
1:24 PM PNG open with Vala's spin and skipper Peter Gough struggles to get the ball away. Three singles off the first over. Gough hits the first boundary in the second over off the bowling of Norman Vanua but only a single added on top of that. A let off for Gough in the third over as he is dropped at mid on as the fielder is about to celebrate the catch. A single off the last ball denies Vala a maiden. Gough hits three twos in the 4th over but PNG will be happy with the start despite not getting a wicket.
Canada v Oman
Canada 40-1 from 4 overs
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
We're back on at Stirling, with the game now reduced to 13 overs. There's some passing showers forecast to come through, so it wouldn't surprise me to see more interruptions.

Cheema was out for 16 shortly after the resumption, hitting a not so nice shot that didn't quite go all the way. Gunasekera and Nitesh Kumar are now batting.
Ireland v USA
USA all out for 100 in the 17th over
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
12:59 PM A complete disaster as the Americans lose three wickets in an over, two of them to unnecessary run outs. Their batting always looked shaky and the wheels have come off when the pressure has been applied.
Kevin O'Brien trapped Jasdeep Singh in front two overs later. Although Ghous hit Cusack for six into the sightscreen it was all over next ball when Ghous holed out to Niall O'Brien at long on.
A fairly inept run chase by the USA left them 47 runs short of their target. They are certainly not going to fulfill their captain's statement that his team would finish in the top two in the tournament.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea's innings finishes on 145 for 9.
David Doey at Bready
12:52 PM Trying to accelerate, Charles Amini skies Tony Kay to Watkins at point in the 17th over. John Boge Reva joins the skipper and Jersey will be happy with only conceding six runs at this stage. With only three runs off the first five balls of the 18th over a boundary form the skipper was very welcome. Another boundary for Vare but tight bowling from Stevens results in the captain being stumped off the last ball of the 19th over. Tony Kay takes two wickets in two balls at the start of the last over but the hat trick ball is driven to the point boundary by Chad Soper but only one run comes off the final three balls and Jersey have come back well as Papua New Guinea finish on 145 for 9.
Canada v Oman
Rain after 2.1 overs, Canada 24-0
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
Well they got started but now they're off as the rain comes back.

A great start for Canada in the first over though. The game started with two wides, before Gunasakera took a single from the first legitimate delivery. Cheema faced three dots before taking 12 from the last three balls, one of which was a no ball.

Canada were 24-0, with Cheema on 12 from 7 balls, when they came off.
UAE v Netherlands
Netherlands win by 7 wickets in 17.1
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
12:45 PM Well that didn't take long, the last runs coming off just 7 balls, Borren finishing it off with an effortless six over long on. Good win for the Dutch then, and the UAE really under the cosh now. They can't really afford to drop a game from here on out, and are at real risk of being rained out of the tournament.
UAE v Netherlands
Cooper takes charge, Netherlands 101-3 after 16 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
12:42 PM Well Swart will be disappointed to miss out having done the hard work, pinned down in the middle overs and then beaten in the flight by Ahmed taking a massive slash across the line. Cooper's pretty much put the game to bed here though, biggest six of the day off off Tauqir on the last ball of the 14th, and Borren's in now to keep him company and doesn't look like hanging about. Dutch flag finally flying here, KNCB CEO Alex de la Mar arriving with the colours this morning.
Ireland v USA
USA 77-5 after 12 overs making slow progress
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
Standford fell to Dockrell in the 9th over, obviously disappointed with the lbw decision that went against him. Since then Bhatti and Ganesh have been forced to progress in singles as Dockrell gets considerable spin off the pitch.

Ganesh has just gone, a good catch above his head at mid off by Craig Young (his third catch of the innings) off Mooney. USA need 70 from the last 8 overs and it's hard to see how they are going to get them.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
PNG are 120 for 5 off 16 overs
David Doey at Bready
12:33 PM A loose ball down leg side by Stevens is easily guided for four by Vala in the 13th over to bring up the 100. A great direct hit from mid wicket by Ben Stevens runs out Dai in the 14th over. Another wicket follows two balls later as Vala is caught at short fine leg by Rhys Palmer. So two new batsmen skipper Jack Vare and Charles Amini now in the middle. Skipper Peter Gough bowls the 15th over which costs 7 runs with a mixture of twos, singles and a wide. No boundaries from the 16th over but good running by the batsmen brings 8 runs.
Canada v Oman
Team news
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
12:27 PM Oman have made one change since their defeat yesterday, with Mohammad Nadeem coming in for Ajay Lalcheta. Canada have Shaheed Keshvani coming in for Hiral Patel.
UAE v Netherlands
Swart and Cooper push on, Netherlands 70-2 after 12 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
12:26 PM Swart rather too circumspect getting started really, saw out a maiden against Tauqir. Risks batting the Dutch into a tougher position than necessary and Cooper taking more risks to compensate. No boundaries since the powerplay and dots just starting to tell, swept four in the 11th relieves the pressure but risky running and nerves were just coming into play one feels. But then Ben Cooper stages the jailbreak with a towering six over backward square, putting the Dutch back on track.
Canada v Oman
Oman win toss - will field
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
12:25 PM I finally have the news from the toss - Oman have won it and will field first.
Ireland v USA
USA 50-3 after 8 overs
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
Fahad Babar fell to a low catch by Craig Young at short fine leg off Stuart Thompson. Amsterdam followed in the next over, bowled by Mooney, when he skied a simple catch, again taken by Young, from John Mooney's second ball.
Boundaries from Bhatti and Standford kept the score ticking along, helped by four leg byes.
At the end of the 8th over the USA need 97 more runs at a required rate of 8.08 per over.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
PNG are 96 for 3 after 12 overs
David Doey at Bready
12:15 PM No boundaries in the 9th over but good running yields 9 runs. New bowler Jonty Jenner is greeted with the first maximum of the day hit by Pala in the 10th over which he follows with a pull for four as PNG reach 85 for 2 at the halfway mark. Pala escapes in the 11th over as Bisson drops him at cow corner. He doesn't make the most of the let off as he is bowled by Rhys Palmer in the 12th over for 20.
UAE v Netherlands
Cooper and Swart stabilise, Netherlands 47-2 after 8 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
12:10 PM UAE finish the powerplay strongly, just one run off Nasir Aziz's third over and Barresi gifts his wicket to Muhammad Naveed, checking his shot and chipping the simplest of catches to Aziz at mid off. Just a hint of hope for the Emiratis perhaps, but Cooper and Swart seem happy just to milk the singles here which is all they'll need. Crowd has expanded appreciably now, in anticipation of today's second game one suspects.
Canada v Oman
12:30 start
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
12:10 PM Good news at last. Thanks to some sterling (excuse the pun) work from the ground staff, there'll be a 15 over game starting at 12:30. News from the toss as soon as I have it.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
PNG are 63 for 2 after 8 overs.
David Doey at Bready
12:02 PM Sieka goes for one shot too many in the 5th over and is caught by Bodenstein in the deep off the bowling of Ben Stevens for a well made 26. New batsman Assadollah Vala keeps the scoreboard taking over as PNG finish the powerplay on 54-1. Stevens takes another wicket as he rmoves Ura for 22 with a good return catch. Kila Pala is the new batsman and singles are the order of the day as PNG reach 63-2.
Ireland v USA
Poor start for USA as they reach 22-1 from 4 overs
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
USA got off to a disastrous start when Akeem Dodson tried to get out of the way of his first delivery from Cusack but only succeeded in flicking it through to keeper Wilson.
Amsterdam got the innings moving with a boundary of Young in the second over and then Babar pulled a short ball from Cusack through mid wicket.
Another boundary from Amsterdam took USA to 22 for 1 at the endof the fourth over.
UAE v Netherlands
Myburgh goes early, Netherlands after 31-1 after 4 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
11:56 AM Myburgh's poor tournament continues, skying a cross batted swipe at a length ball from Guruge and the skipper takes a simple catch at cover. The Dutch still cruising here though, Barresi onto 17 from 11.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
PNG are 40-0
David Doey at Bready
11:45 AM Openers Tony Ura and Lega Siaka look to take quick singles early on and advance the score with a couple of boundaries in the second over to move to 18 for 0. Siaka continues his aggressive play and takes 9 off Tony Kay's second over. Introduction of spin of Nat Watkins in the 4th over has no effect as Sieka continues his assault to get to 25* with Ura on 12*.
UAE v Netherlands
Netherlands need 120 to win
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
11:40 AM So exactly six an over needed for the win here for the Dutch, persisting with the same Barresi- Myburgh opening pair which worked rather well yesterday, and spin to start for the UAE Nasir Aziz opening the bowling. Netherlands selector Jeroen Smits informs me that he's bagged a screenshot of my shambolic drop yesterday. Which is nice.

Latest possible start time is 2pm
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
11:32 AM I'm told that if the worst comes to the worst, the latest they can start a 5 over a side game is 2pm. The toss for that would have to take place at 1:30pm, so we'll likely know what's going on shortly after 1pm.
Ireland v USA
Ireland finish on 146-6
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
Helped by some poor boundary fielder, Balbirnie began the 17th over with a pair of boundaries. However, only three more runs accrued in the remainder of the over.

A free hit in the 18th over went begging as Thompson failed to make contact. Singh then sinned once again with another overstep to continue to give Ireland unnecessary runs.

Balbirnie's excellent knock ended when Babar took an excellent one-handed catch above his head. His invaluable 44 came from 36 balls. That left Ireland on 117-6 with 11 deliveries remaining - assuming Singh can avoid overstepping in the final over!

Mooney immediately set about Shahid with four through square leg and a huge six over long on.

The final over saw a scoop shot for four from Mooney followed by another boundary to fine leg. And yes, Singh did overstep once again to give Thompson a boundary through mid off. He certainly cost the USA a lot of runs in his final two overs with some poor cricket on his part. 17 runs came from the final over to leave Ireland on 146-6 at the end.

This ought to be more than enough for Ireland to win should the USA produce the same ort of lacklustre batting display they gave against Nepal on Friday.
UAE v Netherlands
Dutch hold UAE to 119, UAE 119-7 closed
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
11:24 AM Van der Merwe claims his best T20I figures with 2-10 from four overs, dismissing Fayyaz Ahmed and Abdul Shakoor in consecutive balls, a top edged sweep to Micky Swart and a quick full ball under the swipe into the stumps respectively. Naveed and Umair can't seem to find the boundary off van der Gugten or Malik in the final few. Malik picks up another wicket in the last over, Naveed slicing a slower bouncer over Borren at mid wicket, who seems to misjudge it as he's jogging backward, ends up snatching it one handed above his head. He rather sheepishly apologises for making it look hard. That's not how you're supposed to take them.
Canada v Oman
Further inspection at 12pm
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
11:20 AM The ground staff are really trying their best, but there's been so much rain it's very difficult for them. There'll be a further inspection at 12 noon. Earliest start we could have got a full game in was 11:30, so we're now losing overs.

We can theoretically get a 5 over game in, but I have to say, prospects are not good.
Ireland v USA
Ireland 95-5 after 16 overs
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
8 runs came from the 13th over as Balbirnie began to score more freely. Only 4 runs came from the following over as Gary Wilson tried to establish himself.

Balbirnie hit the first six of the innings, as Shahid made a poor effort at mid wicket. However, the partnership came to an end in the next over when Wilson played a tame shot straight to short extra cover.

Ireland need a lot of runs from the final 4 overs if they are to post a decent total. Babirnie is currently on 31 and has bene joined by Thompson.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
Jersey win the toss and will bowl first
David Doey at Bready
11:06 AM Even though there has been a delay this is still a 20 over match. Peter Gough of Jersey has won the toss and asked Jack Vare and his Papua New Guinea team to bat first. Play to start at 11-30 and I will bring you updates every 4 or 5 overs.
UAE v Netherlands
Netherlands ramp up the pressure, UAE 98-4 after 16 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
11:04 AM The Dutch stringing some tidy overs together now, the skipper himslef bowling his first overs of the tournament. Shakoor's brace of fours off Bukhari in that last over the first boundaries since the eighth over, really smothering the UAE. Patil went trying to break the shackles, bowled behind his legs by Rippon on the reverse sweep. Some rowdy Dutch partisans have donned high visibility orange vests for the occasion, cheering their side in decidedly Scottish accents.
Ireland v USA
Ireland 70-4 after 12 overs
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
The 9th over was a quiet one with just four singles as the batsmen kept finding the fielders. However, Kevin O'Brien fell at the start of the next over when he picked out Singh who hardly had to move at long off.

Balbirnie chopped a boundary down to third man in the next over but then had a life in the next over when he was dropped by Patel at short extra cover.

With only 3 runs coming from the 12th over Ireland are really struggling to gin any momentum int heir innings.

UAE v Netherlands
Dutch looking disciplined as Patil and Anwar press on, UAE 79-3 after 12 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
10:49 AM More luck for Patil here, van der Merwe turns one past the bat and just shaves off stump without disturbing the bail. Good containment from the Dutch who are running hard in the field, Swart with an excellent bit of boundary fielding to save the closest thing we've had to a boundary in four overs. Rippon drops a tough return chance off Patil on the penultimate ball of the 12th, but Malik makes good with a good catch on the rope to remove Anwar next ball. Still plenty of wickets in hand for a late blitz though.
Ireland v USA
Ireland 51-3 after 8 overs
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
The fifth over ended well for Ireland with Kevin O'Brien hitting successive boundaries off Bhatti. Porterfield may have been dropped at the wicket int he next over but there wasn't much reaction out in the middle.

Kevin O'Brien played on from a free hit delivery but got two runs as the ball ran down to fine leg! Another powerful cut shot brought him his fourth boundary. 48-2 at the end of the seventh over.

Another wicket for the USA at the start of the 8th over as Porterfield tries to sweep against Patel, misses and is hit in front. Only 3 runs more come from the over as Balbirnie joins O'Brien.
UAE v Netherlands
Faizan falls as Dutch come back hard, 56-2 UAE after 8 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
10:35 AM Dutch coming back well here, wicket maiden for Ahsan Malik in the fourth courtesy an excellent over the shoulder catch for van der Gugten, van Meekeren could almost have had one too had Patil's inside edge found the stumps instead of the rope. Patil's made good use of his luck though, on 17 from 15 now. Your correspondents brief stroll past the Dutch dugout brings only more flack over yesterday's drop...
Ireland v USA
Ireland 22-2 after 4 overs
John Elder at Stormont, Belfast
Stirling and Niall O'Brien again opened for Ireland. The first over from Singh produced just 2 runs but then Stirling drove Ghous through extra cover to get the innings moving. However, Shahid struck with the first ball of the third over when Stirling tried to pull a short ball and dragged it on to his stumps.
O'Brien flicked Shahid to the fine leg boundary to take ireland to 16-1 after 3 overs. However, after hitting Jasdeep for another boundary he played a poor shot straight to mid on who held the simple chance.
UAE v Netherlands
Faizan off to a flier, UAE 35-1 after 4 overs
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
10:18 AM Increasingly grey here at the Grange but no risk of rain in the the immediate future and a decent crowd in already. Meanwhile in the middle Asif and Shahzad have gotten UAE an excellent start, Asif producing a brace of beautiful cover drives in Bukhari's first over and clobbering van der Gugten for a huge straight six in the next over. Van der Gugten has a better time of it in his next however, Shahzad chopping down onto his stumps in a manner remarkably reminiscent of Myburgh's dismissal yesterday.
Canada v Oman
Pitch inspection at 11am
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
10:08 AM Some news - there's been a pitch inspection and they've opted to have another inspection at 11am. So I'll update you then.
Jersey v Papua New Guinea
Delayed start at Bready
David Doey at Bready
9:49 AM Good morning and the news from Bready CC is that due to heavy overnight rain there is a delayed start. The good news is the weather forecast is fine so we are hopeful of a full match. The groundstaff are currently mopping up. News of the toss once it happens.
Statistics Snippet
The Netherlands have played UAE twice in WT20Q matches, and lost both times. Similarly, the USA have never beaten Ireland in three attempts and Scotland have lost twice to Afghanistan. Canada take on Oman for the first time, and the same is obviously true of Papua New Guinea against Jersey, the latter having made their debut yesterday.
UAE v Netherlands
Netherlands win the toss and will bowl
Bertus de Jong at The Grange, Edinburgh
9:47 AM Morning all, we're back at the Grange for a double-header today. First up, UAE v Netherlands - a key game for both sides but absolutely must-win for the Emiratis now. It's mild and breezy here today, had a spot rain overnight but brightening up now. Peter Borren still on a roll with the coin, but will bowl first today on a fresh wicket, Tauqir happy enough to bat. Changes for the UAE Fayyaz, Nasir and Manjula in for Rohan Mustafa, Javed and Ahmed Raja. For the Dutch pace in for left arm spin, Paul van Meekeren for Seelaar.
Ireland v USA
Ireland v USA: Ireland will bat
Latest from Stormont
Good morning from a bright, even sunny, Stormont where the forecast is excellent for today's clash between Ireland and USA. The news is that USA won the toss and have put Ireland in to bat first.
Canada v Oman
Toss delayed
Andrew Nixon at New Williamfield, Stirling
The latest news from Stirling is that the toss has been delayed. The ground isn't dry yet from the deluge it got during the warm-ups earlier in the week, and I'm told there's been a little more rain overnight.

More news as I get it.
