The Appeals Committee of Cricket Scotland met on Tuesday 5 February to consider the appeal by Dunfermline CC in respect of the decision by Cricket Scotland’s Competitions Committee to bar Dunfermline CC from the 2008 Scottish Cup competition. This was consequent of the club playing an ineligible player in the 2007 competition.

The decision of the Appeals Committee was as follows:

“In all of the circumstances the Appeals Committee was not satisfied that the matter had been properly dealt with at the relevant time and that the matter had further been considered and determined without proper consultation with the appellate club. Justice must always be seen to be done and not delayed. In this case the Appeals Committee was not satisfied that appropriate steps had been taken at the relevant time and accordingly decided to uphold the appeal.”
