The NICA have organized two Level 1 Spring preparation days for Groundsmanship in both NCU and North West Unions. Groundsmanship is an increasingly essential  part of Cricketing life requiring constant and updated learning for all involved and for those with an interest in the workings of club life.

As such the two courses shall deal with Spring preparation for Cricket and be hosted at the two most notable venues within each Union:  Stormont and Bready, the latter being a new ground developed with state of the art indoor facilities and to international specifications.

The Level 1 course seeks to instruct participants upon the necessary actions required pre-season to deliver good quality playing conditions and is interlinked with the Autumn course for which dates are to be confirmed in due course.

Cricket Development Manager Ryan Haire commented: "We would hope that as many clubs as possible are represented on the IOG (Institute of Groundsmanship) approved and delivered course enabling the standard of playing surfaces throughout both Unions to be improved via educated learning."

The cost of the course is set at £80 per person with includes lunch. The programme for the day begins with registration at 9am and finishes around  4 pm..

The course at Stormont will be held on 5th April and the one at  Bready  on  12th April.

Places can be reserved on a first come first served basis by contacting Richard Maguire at the Cricket Office on 02890 383823 or emailing cricket@houseofsport.net.
