Argentina all-rounder Lucas Paterlini has been found guilty under Level 1 of the International Cricket Council’s Code of Conduct following an incident that took place during a Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 3 match in Buenos Aires.

Paterlini was reported by third umpire Ashook Brijcoomar and charged under the Level 1.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct that relates to the “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings”.

The charge related to an incident during Argentina’s match against Cayman Islands on Wednesday 28 January when Paterlini was observed to have struck a marker disc on his way off the field having been run out. Paterlini pleaded guilty to the charge.

For Level 1 offences, there is no right of appeal and the referee’s decision is final.

Present at the hearing were: match referee David Jukes, the umpire who laid the charge, the player, Argentina captain Esteban MacDermott and Argentina coach Hamish Barton.
