IRELAND'S under 15 cricketers completed a clean sweep to clinch the European Championships with a thoroughly comprehensive seven wicket win over traditional rivals Scotland at Rugby.
The victory was set up by a superb all-round bowling display which saw Scotland dismissed for just 93, with skipper Harry Tector leading the way with 3 for 26.
It was a brilliant return catch by Tector which ended the only partnership of note in the Scotland innings - 36 between Tom Diamond (30) and Louis Ware (25).
Ian Anders (2-2), Varun Chopra (2-30), Josh Little (1-7) and Aaron Cawley (1-8) were the other successful wicket takers for the Irish.
Chasing their modest target, the Irish wobbled slightly, losing the early wickets of Rory McGovern and Ian Anders for 7, and Sean Currie for just three to be 30 for 3.
However there were no further alarms for Ireland as Tector (30*) and Neil Rock (27*) secured the title with an unbroken 4th wicket stand of 65.
