The NCU Junior Cup draw has been announced

With last season’s winners Armagh competing in next season’s Challenge Cup beaten finalists CSNI II become the highest ranked side in 2016 and have been given a bye into the second round where they will have home advantage over Laurelvale, the side they beat in last year’s semi-final.

The other beaten semi-finalists, Waringstown II have also been given a bye but will face a trip way to Donaghadee in their Round 2 fixture.

Of the other traditionally strong teams Instonians II have a first round tie away to Dungannon, North Down II who were 1st round losers to eventual winners Armagh last time are away to Ards, while Muckamore II who lost in the first round to finalists CSN II face a trip to Dundrum.

Templepatrick were in the Challenge Cup last season where they defeated Woodvale in the first round and they will be hoping for similar early success with home advantage against BISC despite the loss of last season’s captain Robert Smith who has signed for Carrickfergus.
