Cricket Scotland has announced that Head Coach of the senior women’s team, Kari Carswell, has stepped down.
After five years at the helm of the women’s national team, Kari will continue in her role as Women’s Cricket Manager at Cricket Scotland and continue to be part of the performance set up as a player.
Over the past five years Carswell has seen many highs and lows with the team promoted up to Division 2 in the ECB County Championship in 2014 no mean achievement given that the team have had to play all their fixtures away from home in the tournament.
Unfortunately they only lasted the one season in the higher league.
The team also came within one game of playing in this year’s World T20 Cup in India.
She leaves the team in good heart having brought on many young players and her successor will have a good pool of talent to work with.
Carswell will continue as a player and will concentrate on her role as Women’s Cricket Manager looking to continue the development of the women’s game in Scotland.
Cricket Scotland will look to advertise for a new Head Coach in the near future.
