IRELAND will be without Stuart Thompson for their ICC InterContinental Cup clash with Papua New Guinea this weekend.
The Eglinton all-rounder required stitches after suffering a small laceration to his left foot.
He suffered the injury stepping out of a pool earlier this week, inadvertently standing on a soft drinks bottle which broke.
He will be replaced in the squad by The Hills all-rounder Max Sorensen, who was already with the squad preparing for the three match T20 International Series with Papua New Guinea.
Cricket Ireland are hopeful that Thompson will recover in time for the T20I series, which takes place on February 6th, 7th and 9th.
