Campbell College U14 v Dungannon Royal School Under 14

Campbell College U14 - 163/4 (20 overs Charlie Maskery 46, Archie Johnston 33*, Henry Auchmuty 27)

Dungannon Royal School - 12/10 (10.2 overs Rahul Gondhia 8-0, Charlie Maskery 2-2)

Campbell College win by 151 runs.

The scoreboard gives the facts but does scant justice to the story that unfolded as the day went on. Given a rare opportunity to play on the main square Campbell made the most of their chance on the big stage in running up a total of 163-4 in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply the Dungannon openers played out the opening overs from the Campbell seamers scoring 9 runs.

What was now to follow was one of those spells that will never be forgotten by those who played or witnessed it.

Off-spinner Rahul Gondhia bowled his first over - .W…W his second - W…W. and his third - .WWWW. 18 deliveries - 10 ‘dots’, 8 wickets, six bowled and 2 caught including a hat-trick.

However the chance of a perfect haul was spoiled when Charlie Maskery, another off-spinner, took the final 2 wickets with the first two balls of his second over.

Nevertheless a card unlikely to be equalled and certainly one to get framed and hung on the wall.
