David Whitten's five wicket haul and a belligerent half century from James Hume helped RBAI to an emphatic 8 wicket win over Limavady GS in the last of the Ulster Bank Schools Cup quarter-final ties.

Seamer Whitten had the superb analysis of 5 for 9 as Limavady managed just 79 all out in 20.3 overs, never recovering from the loss of early wickets.

Graham Kennedy was the only player to reach double figures as he struck 6 sixes in an entertaining 45 - targeting the short leg side boundary on the school side of the ground.

His innings was ended by a superb catch at cover by Louis McNamara off Whitten and with it went Limavady's hopes of setting anything near a competitive total.

Chasing such a modest total James Hume teed off and bludgeoned 5 fours and 3 sixes in a brutal assault on the Limavady bowling.

He raced to 54 before being the second wicket to fall with the winning line in sight - Kennedy (2-32) getting the consolation wickets as 'Inst' passed the target in just 7.3 overs.

RBAI's reward for the win is an away day at Grosvenor in the semi-finals with BRA hosting Campbell in the other.
