Having swept the boards in North West women’s cricket in 2015, Strabane Saints could once again prove the team to beat this time after Martin Deans’ charges made it three wins from three games on Monday night.

Killyclooney provided the opposition in this one and the home side batted first, with Holly Rankin (30) and Emma Semple (20) faring best for them in their 90 all out. There were two wickets apiece for Denise McDonald, Anji Porter and Meagan Moorehead for the Saints.

The visitors rarely looked in trouble as the reply got under way with Julie Logue once again showing her class with an unbeaten 48. Porter’s 20 came in handy as well as Hazel Magee’s team kept their unbeaten record intact with an emphatic win.

Despite that however it is Bready who continue to lead the table as the Magheramason women recorded a thumping win over Donemana at the Holm. A superb bowling performance from Steph Wilkinson (4-5) coupled with two wickets apiece for Vanessa Buchanan and Jemma Rankin saw Donemana shot out for just 35 and there was no way back after that.

The visitors wasted little time- six overs to be precise- as they knocked off the required runs without the loss of any wickets.

That’s four out of four now for Bready and just like last season, the major honours could well be decided when the top two clash during the summer.
