Torrential rain washed out all four Topklasse matches on Sunday, postponing VRA and VOC's wooden-spoon showdown until Saturday.
With heavy overnight rain and drizzly conditions in the morning across the country, not a single ball was bowled in the Topklasse on Sunday. With the final positions at the top of the table already decided, Dosti-United's match against Quick Haag and Excelsior's game against ACC will not be replayed, by mutual agreement.
Exclesior thus finish in second place behind defending champions Dosti, and the two will meet in the first best of three final this coming Sunday at a ground of Excelsior's choosing, presumably Thurlede, whilst Dosti will designate the venue for the second and third matches. Last year's runner's up Quick Haag narrowly miss out on a fourth consecutive Topklasse final, with ACC finishing in fourth place.
At the bottom end of the table, Hermes and HCC's de facto fifth place playoff is still expected to go ahead next Saturday, whilst VRA and VOC's crucial showdown will also go ahead, with Sunday a designated reserve day should the weather intervene again. VRA currently lead VOC 2-0 on head-to-head results, so a tie or an improbable double washout will be enough to see them safe. The loser will take on either VVV or Punjab in a three game promotion/relegation playoff, scheduled to run concurrently with the best-of-three final, with the 10th of September also available should the decisive league matches be pushed back to Sunday.
Punjab and VVV likewise have a decisive match scheduled for Saturday, with the winner gaining automatic promotion and the loser meeting either VRA or VOC, or in case of a tie VVV's current 2 point advantage would see them through. In case of a washout, Sunday is also available as a reserve day.
